Randy Benthien, Founding Partner

Randy Benthien serves as a facilitator, coach and counsel to leaders, executives and boards in the private, not-for-profit and public sectors, with clients in 26 states and Washington, D.C.  He founded Benthien Associates  in 1982.

A native of Wisconsin, Randy earned a BA in psychology and social relations from Harvard, and a masters in education and counseling from Ohio University. He garnered corporate experience in the insurance industry, and extensive non-for-profit experience as the executive director of YMCAs in Ohio and Minnesota.

Randy has served on more than a dozen boards of directors, chairing several of them, including the most challenging for him, a three-town SAU school board. Randy is currently an advisory board member of the Endowment for Health, New Hampshire Institute of Politics, New Hampshire Humanities Council, and the Manchester Regional Community Foundation

Credentials aside, Randy's warmth, style, energy, candor, thought-provoking questions, engaging dialogue and commitment to his clients are key to his success. He helps clients build better teams, develop deeper levels of trust, resolve conflict, implement cultural values and mission statements, create strategic plans, find solutions to seemingly intractable problems, and coaches them to lead and act in accordance with stated principles and vision.

The same ethics and principles that define Randy Benthien’s professional endeavors are brought to bear in his personal life. Living in Goffstown, New Hampshire, with his wife and business partner, Carolyn Benthien, Randy’s priorities are his family, personal development, health and fitness, improving his community, and all outside activities that provide a connection to nature.
